I got my yearbook today. I flipped through the pages. I saw pictures of people and write-ups that attempt to describe a person in 150 words or less. But you can't. It's impossible.

I read my own write-up and i don't even completely agree with it; and it was written by one of the people who know me best. I can't see myself in that single page. Something is missing. I am not only that, i cannot be contained in a page, i am more. Everybody's more than a single page.

I read the ones of the people i know, and i don't agree with what's written about most of them. She's not that friendly or He's not that deep. Who wrote these things about you? And why did i not meet the person described in that page? Why didn't you let me talk to that girl who seems so ideal in words?

What about the ones i don't know? It surprised me that i recognized only a handful of the faces and names in that book. I didn't even know you existed. We were there for at least four years! Why don't i know you?

The Engineer

Most people, given a year to write about anything that fancies him without any rules or guidelines or pressure at all except perhaps for the said time limit (if you can even call that pressure), will probably end up with a decent novel. I think even if one has no compulsion, only an oblogation to write something, anything at all, will at least end up with a short story or even an interesting diary.

So here i am, given a year, practically all the time in the world. I didn't need to write a novel, nothing grand. In said year, i barely finished a ten page paper on the subject of anything.

I'm not writing about it because i'm proud of it. Exactly the opposite. I'm making it public to remind myself how low i can get. In fact, i'm shaming myself with this, and i deserve it.

I can't study. I know i have to ace this exam or else there's a good probability that i'm going to have to re-re-take this. And that's something i really, really (desperately) don't want to happen. But i can't study. Nothing's working the way it's supposed to. Weird thing is, i'm not that worried.; when the reality is should be very, very worried.
